2003-2004 Managers Review of the Season

Under 14's Review of the Season
The season started on the backfoot by losing the cup game followed by 4 leagues. From then on it was an uphill battle but all credit to the Cavaliers for not giving up and were eventually rewarded withy a few well earned victories. Overall it was a up and down season in division 2 finishing 8th which was a little disappointing but overal ok considering the start the boys had. The boys seem to have enjoyed the season despite the results and are looking forward not back. In the tournaments getting to 4 semi finals 3 quarter finals although disappointing not winning anything was enjoyable to do so well. The boys have a bright future together next season which all concerned with the new additions to the side look good. I just want to thank everyone, parents, supporters fpr their help all season, Chris O'riordan , Mick Woodhall and Ade Luttman for their help with training and match day support. Most of all the players for all their hard work and loyalty throughout the season.
Thankyou and may the future be more brighter and successful for all within the Cavaliers.

18th July - Barton Rovers Annual 6-aside Tournament 2004

For the 3rd tournament in a row the Cavaliers missed out by losing in the semi final 1- 0 . In a tight tough group the Cavaliers drew 3 losed 1 and won 1 but sadly again missed out on a close but no cigar tournament summer.
Matt Eagles and Phil partridge had good games and kept the Cavaliers in the tournament. Tom Collard with his 9th goal in 4 tournaments and Troy Whelan scoring his 15th of the season helped the Cavaliers through but lossed out yet again when it really mattered.
At the end of the day the boys had enjoyed themselves but wanted something for their efforts but were again disappointed.

10th July - Woodley Wanderers Annual Tournament 2004

Woodley Wanderers Annual Tournament 2004

once again the Cavaliers very well but yet again went out in the semi finals in yet another penalty shoot-out. In the group matches we won 3 and lost 2 but was enough to qualify in a tight group into the quarter finals. Goals coming from Caleb Muirimi, Troy Whelan, and Tom Collard (4). In the Quarters against a tough side James Oriordan made some important saves with Phil Partridge in Defence working his socks off. The winning goal for the Cavaliers came with a fine move involving Troy Whelan and Tom Collard who finished with ease.
In the semi final against a tough Woodley Team the Cavaliers fort hard hitting the Woodley post and crossbar but were denied the goal they deserved. The rest is history more heart break in a penalty shootout yet again missing out on another final.
All the boys worked very hard all day and deserved more for their efforts.
Team - James O'riordan, Tanaka Arigundia, Caleb Muirimi, Troy Whelan, Phil Partridge, Jessie Dagdag, Matt Eagles, Tom Collard.

22nd June - Woodley Saints 6-aside Annual Tournament

Woodley Saints Annual 6-aside Tournament 2004

We have 2 teams entered with 1 team got off to a win with goals from Troy Whelan and Tom Collard. At the end of the group qualified for the quarter finals. The other team like wise but with 5 0-0 draws saw them to get into the quarter finals.
In the quarters sadly 1 of our teams were beaten but not without a fight. Excellent play from Rhys Cunningham, Phil Partridge and Tom Collard.
Our 2nd team wnet through to the semi finals in a dramatic penalty shoot-out with Tom Conway saving all 3 penalties in a row for the Cavaliers but in the semi with seconds to go at 0-0 with the last kick of the game a goal was scored aganist us to deny a penalty shoot-out for the final.
See near but yet so far again.

5th June - Woodley Hammers 6-a-side Tournament 2004

The Cavaliers started well with s 1 - 0 win with the goal coming from new lad Tom Collard. 2nd game the Cavaliers got better and better with a 2 -0 win with goals coming from New boys Tom Collard and mark O'Driscoll. The passing was at its best and the score could have been 8 - 0 . The 3rd game the Cavaliers went 1 - 0 down but bonced back with a goal set up by Jessie Dagdag with matt wallis applying the finish.
the last game the Cavaliers lost but finished runners up in the group and qualified for the cup. A goal in the 1st 15 seconds from Tom Collard sealed the win. In the quarters disaster happened when we lost by committing an own goal to seal our fate.

Team
James O'Riordan, Matt Eagles, Phil Partridge, Tom Collard, Matt Wallis, Mark O'Driscoll, Jessie Dagdag, Troy Whelan.

Cavaliers man of the Tournament - Phil Partridge

Mon 31st May - Theale Tigers Tournament 2004

Not the best of days in the hot sun and hard ground conditions. 2 Cavalier teams entered but both teams depleated and weakened with several key players missing. Cavaliers blue team did not qualify but the goo points were they never gave up in a difficult group of teams also New Boy on the block Mark O'driscoll scored on his debut. Rhys cunningham was player of the tournament for the blue team.
The reds started well with matt Wallis scoring a right footed volley in the 1st game but the team ended up drawing. The 2nd game goals from Chris Whipp and Jessie Dagdag meant a 2- 0 victory in the 2nd game. The last game we drew 0 - 0 to win the group but sadly lost out in the quarter finals.
Cavaliers tournament players were Jessie Dagdag and Phil Partridge.
Both teams worked vey hard today against the odds a little with several keys players missing another day it could have been our daqy.

2nd May - Mytchett Tournament 2004

A fairly successful day but missing out on semi finals in a crucial game the Cavaliers need to win but drew instead. Goals through-out the tournament were scored by Rhys Cunningham, Troy Whelan 3, Tanaka 2, Dane Marshall .

11th April - 3rd place - Sandhurst Anglo-Dutch Tournament 2004

Sandhurst Anglo Dutch Tournament 2004 -

Finshed 3rd Place

Cavaliers Squad -
Oliver Davidson - Goal Keeper
Defence - Tom Conway, Phil Partridge ( Capt.), Lee Woodhall, Tanaka Arigundia.
Midfield - Dane Marshall, Matt Eagles, Dan Money, Dan Newton, Jessie Dagdag, Matt Wallis, Troy Whelan
Forwards - Cory Smith, Caleb Muirimi.

The whole team deserved praise as to finish 3rd in this tournament only losing 1 game all day was a fantastic achievement. All the games were played in good spirits. We got off to a flying start in the 1st game with a 1 - 0 win against Div.1 team Sandhurst Town with the goal coming from Caleb Muirimi. The 2nd game against Camberley Town we came from 1 - 0 down to draw 1-1 with a fine equaliser free kick from phil Partridge. The and best game against the Dutch Side AVO was exciting and through sheer determination Cory fired home a fine shot followed uop minutes later by a super volley from Dan Money , we could have scored more but with minutes to AVO scored 1 back and with seconds to go AVO hit the post off the crossbar and went in off the other post in the net for 2-2 .
It was all set up for the last game against another Sandhurst team all we had to do was win the game and we would win the tournament and all they had to do was draw. We had to gamble as time was running out and Sandhurst caught us on the break and just before the end as we were pushing forward caught us again. In goal Oliver Davidson was big and strong through-out the tournament. Everyone all over the pitch performed well and there was no man of the match as the whole team desreved the award. We had 1 casulalty matt Wallis who suffered with an injury and damaged his knee ligaments. The team have earned a trophy which will be displayed in the trophy cabinet at the club house.

Well done Cavaliers for a fine team performance through - out the day.

28th March - Ascot Utd Royals (A) 8 - 1 (L)

Ascot Utd Royals 8 Bracknell Cavaliers FC 1

In the last league game of the season the Cavaliers were playing with a depleated weakened squad playing for pride only but Ascot needed all the points if they were to contend with promotion to Div.1. The 1st 10 minutes were even but Ascot caught the Cavaliers napping a scored a goal against the run of play. This did not deter the Cavaliers who pushed forward and were soon rewarded with a lot of hard work from Matt Wallis down the right found Caleb in space in the middle score coolly scored to level things. In a spell when we had chances by troy Whelan, Jack Grisman and Jessie dagdag to add to the score but were dinied by the Ascot keeper. Once again Ascot broke against the run of play and scored just before half time. At 2 -1 down at half time and did not deserve to be so the Cavaliers went out in the 2nd half and in a 10 minute spell Ascot hit 4 goals and dented anty chance to get back into the game. saying that all the Cavaliers did not give up against the odds and almost grabbed a late consolation through Matt Eagles and Jack Grisman and a fine free kick from Phil Partridge. Ascot scored 2 more goals to make the final score 8 - 1 to make this the worst defeat the Cavaliers have suffered all season. With 6 keys players missing for the Cavaliers and injuries hit in the day also the odds were stacked against us.

Man of the match - Jack Grisman - showed great spirit and never gave up.

Aces pushed on just before half time and score a 2nd to make the half time score 5 - 2 in the Cavaliers favour.
The 2nd half started more even and the Cavalier defence had more work to do, man of the Match Tanaka was in fine formall game thwarting every Aces attack. Aces manage to score twice in 10 minutes to close the gap to 5 - 4 but then the Cavaliers stepped up a gear and Troy Whelan found himself in space and with great skill beat his defender and firing home a fine goal to put the Cavaliers 6 - 4 up and in control. The Cavaliers started broghtly with Adam newell and Dan Money finding space behing the Liphook defence in the early minutes and on 10 Minutes after a spell of pressure on Liphook a through ball from Chris Whipp to Adam Newell from Which Adam fored in a well taken angled shot leaving the goal kepper no hope of a save. midway thorugh the 1st half Liphook exposed the Cavalier defence with a long ball through leaving the forward to tuck away a easy goal. A few holes appeared in the Cavaliers midfield from which Liphhook exploited and managed to score a 2nd. Right from the off the Cavaliers took charge of this match with Dan Money and Jack Grisman bossing the midfield with Caleb Muirimi and Troy Whelan running the Camberley defence ragged. Adam Newell playing on the left side played outstanding creating chances for the rest of the team. The goal game after 17mins when Dan Money latched onto a loose ball and fired home to put the Cavaliers 0 - 1 up. Bracknell Cavaliers FC 4 Binfield FC 1

Binfield graciously accepted to play a friendly for which we thank them for it was pack with incidents. I was not there to witness a game of football as i was taking my final exams Level 2 coaching Badge for which i passed. in the game Matt Eagles scored his first ever goal for the club, Matt Wallis scored his 1st for the club this season and it was a header. Tanaka on his debut playing right back had an outstanding game , may there be many more, shame he scored a home goal. Lee Woodhall went off injured in an ambulance with a discolated shoulder , all the team wishes him a speedy recovery. The goals were scored by Calab Murimi doing yet again a very good job at fromt and has a knack of scoring regualary, Alos Liam Walter had a chance to add to the score from the penalty spot but put it wide. The whole team played very well all game , a fine team effort. once again i thank Binfield for the game.

Liphook Utd A 5 Bracknell Cavaliers FC 2

A disastorous day that did not start too good half the team including myself were late for a 12pm k/o we arrive 12.20pm but the manager was very good and patient. So in the high winds and not reallly much match preparation we started the game and looked to settle down and created a few early chances that went wayward. It was not until 20 minutes into the game when Liphook scored when they muscled their way thorugh the Cavaliers defence. From then on Liphook looked more like they wanted the game more then us and in a very physical battled Liphook came out on top scoring 2 more times. A 3 - 0 down at half time the Cavaliers once again were up against it and were caught on the break early on and Liphook scotred 2 times in 5 minutes. At 5 - 0 down and 20 minutes to go the Cavaliers started to stand up for themselves and Dan Money, Matt Wallis and Cory Smith all winning personel battles in midfield. Sure enough the Cavaliers scored with a close range effort from Caleb Muirimi and Minutes later Jessie Dagdag added to the score. The momentum was with the Cavaliers but time seem to run out alot quicker then the refs watch who blew 6 minutes too ealry but stood by his decision.

Bracknell Cavaliers FC 3 Border & Heath End 6
For the 1st 15 minutes the Cavaliers dominated the attacking play but with no end product for their efforts. It was Heath End who struck 1st catching the cavalier defence out and scoring . 5 minutes later Heath end countered and scored yet again. This time the Cavaliers pushed on and after a spell of pressure Phil Partridge fired home from close range. once again the Cavaliers dominated the attacking with jessie dagdag and Adam newell both coming very close but were denied by some good keeping. A killer blow happened just before half time with Heath End yet again scoring on the counter. At 3-1 down the Cavaliers had an uphill struggle but bounced back when Jack grisman found a through ball supplying Cory Smith who scoring a very good goal. At 3 -2 Heath End looked rattled and on the back foot. Sure enough the Cavaliers scored the equaliser mid way through the 2nd half with a fine solo effort from Jessie Dagdag running in to the box beating the last man and the goal keeper brought down Jessie who then steppped up and scored. ( in some people opinions fouling the last man usually is a stright red card but that did not happen. just when the Cavaliers had gallently pulled the score level Heath End scored to go 4 -3 up. This seem to deflate the Cavaliers and conceeded 2 more by full time. A great come back but in football you have to play to the final whistle and this is what we did not do today.

8th February - Lightwater Rovers (A) 4 - 1 (L) 15th League Match

Lightwater Rovers 4 Bracknell Cavaliers 1

On a rough pitch in very windy conditions Lightwater scored after 7 minutes but it was the Cavaliers who had most of the attacking play through Liam on the right wing, Adam in central and Chris W in attack. Several golden chances were created by the Cavaliers but were denied by good goalkeeping and shots passing just wide. Lightwater attacked by use of their goalkeepers big kicks putting the Cavaliers defence under immediate pressure. Lee, Phil , Dane and Matt E all worked very hard. At 1 - 0 down at half time the Cavaliers continued in the same manner by creating chances left via jessie and Right via Liam, chances fell to Adam, Matt W, Rhys, Liam, Chris, Cory, and Troy but the finishing was poor and no goals were scored. Lightwater broke catching the Cavaliers defence off guard and scoring to go 2 - 0 up. The Cavaliers reacted well and won a frekick which Phil struck well from which the Lightwater keeper could not handle and the ball came out to Adam who scored from close range. The story of the match was that we had hatfuls of golden oppotunties but did not take them. That is the difference at the moment between us winning and losing. Lightwater caught out the Cavaliers in the last few minutes with 2 breakaway goals to make the final score 4 - 1.

1st February - Manor Colts (H) 5 - 3 (W)

Bracknell Cavaliers FC 5 Manor Colts 3 13th League Game

Cavaliers started slowly and found themselves under pressure early but thanks to a couple of great saves from the Cavaliers keeper James O'riordan kept Manor Colts at bay. The opening goal came when Caleb broke free and lob the ball over the keeper for 1 - 0. But the Cavaliers were caught napping right after the goal and Manor Colts fould a way through to score to level the game. It was Manor Colts who scored again after yet another lapse of concentration in defence. The Cavaliers bounced straight back and after a spell of pressure Chris Whipp turned and fired a angled shot pass the Colts goalkeeper. Just before half time the Colts scored to go into the lead at half time 2 - 3.
The the 2nd half the Cavaliers dominated the play but could not find the finsh until 15 mniutes in when Troy Whelan scored a fine goal with the outside if the footinto the roof of the Colts net for 3 - 3.
The Cavaliers kept on dominating the game when Jessie broke free into the Colts area and the Defender pushed Jessie in the back and a penalty was given. Lee Woodhall stood up for the penalty having never taken a penalty , he blasted it at the goal leaving the keeper not much chance, this was Lee 1st ever goal for the club in 4 years. Late on a mix up in the Colts defence from a sustained amonut of pressure from the Cavaliers caused the Colts defender to score into his own net.
The score finished 5 - 3 to the Cavaliers.

Cavaliers were 0 - 3 down in 15 minutes but after that the Cavaliers started to fight back and soon enough were rewarded with a goal from Adam Newell and soon enough chances from Jessie, Matt E, Caleb and Liam were all denied by good saves from the Badshot keeper.
This got worse and soon enough the Cavaliers found themselves 1 - 5 down with a mountain to climb. By the end of the game the Cavaliers were well defeated. Saying that the Cavaliers had a host of key players missing even their goalkeeper was not playing in this game.

This was an exciting game of football between 2 local rivals, yet again we had a lot of possession around the Celtics box but not a lot of shots on goal. There was plenty of effort and hardwork all over the pitch from the Cavaliers but lack of match fitness was beginning to show being that this was the 1st game back since Xmas. A few changes were made with Matt E playing up front and doing very well, Matt W in defence also doing very well, with no jessie , Rhys played very well down the left hand side. A few injury worries did not help the situation James (Leg), Dane (groin), Cory(knee), and Phil (Back) despite their injuries they allp layed there part in this closely though match. Early mistakes found ourselves chasing the game 2 - 0 down, we did score back through Jack but so did Celt
and at 3-1 down the game was an up hill struggle. Celtic soon scored again to make it 4- -1 but a fine strike from Jack scored to make the score 2 - 4 and then Caleb scored to make the score 3 - 4 making the final 10 minutes very tense.
Final score - 3 - 4 to Bracknell Celtic.

11th League Match
Farnborough Town Boys 6 Bracknell Cavaliers FC 2

Things did not get off to a flying start for us when Cavalier keeper James got injured (studded in the arm ) from a one on one with a Farnborough attacker from which the ball ended up in the net for 1 - 0. Most of our play came down the left hand side from Rhys ( Left back), Jessie( Left wing), and Troy ( Midfield). Efforts from Jessie hit the crossbar and came back out, we also had several one on ones with the Farnborough keeper from Adam, Liam and Troy only to seethem saved by the keeper.
The 2nd half saw a more determined attitude amounst the Cavaliers and soon enough Jessie broke down the left and into the area only to have the Farnborough keeper bring Jessie down. From the penalty spot Liam cpplly slotted the ball into the net. Once again we had most of the attacking play but could not find the finish and once again Farnborough bundled forward and scored 2 more goals to make the score 5 - 1 . This did not deter the Cavaliers spirit with intelligent play coming from Dan M. in midfieldholding the play up and looking for attacking options. Dan was rewarded for his effortswhen the ball fell loose to him in the area and he fired home a fine goal. Farnborough scored a long range effort to leave the fina score 6 - 2.

In an even 1st half of missed chances from both teams with the closest effort coming from Rhys firing his hot only to see it his the crossbar and re-bound back out into play. Cavaliers keeper came off at half time through injury and Matt W stepped in goal. The 2nd half half saw a big change with an inspired substitution by the management saw jessie came into play and with in a minute closed down the defender with the ball, stole it away from the defender and from a narrow angle beat the Mytchett Keeper. A few minutes later Mytchett caught out he Cavaliers back 4 and scored. This did not deter us and through good play from Rhys who played a fine pass to Jessie who made no mistake and scored his 2nd and the Cavaliers 2nd. Midway through the 2nd half another great substitution from the management saw super sub no.2 Caleb score within 30 secs of coming on. The Cavaliers were well in control at this point and soon enough Jack scored to make it 4 and Caleb scored minutes from time to make it 5 for the Cavaliers. Sub keeper done very well making a couple of important stops and some giant goal kicks.. Today was about all the whole team turning the game around after a poor 1st half to earn a fine victory over a good Mytchett team.

16th November - Border & Heath End (A) 3 - 3 (D) League

Border & Heath End 3 Bracknell Cavaliers 3 8th League Game

The Cavaliers started well and confidently passing the ball around creating a few early shots on Heath Ends goal. It was Heath End who scored 1st by playing a long ball splitting the Cavaliers defence and the forward hit the ball first time and scored. Heath End were playing the longball game through and over the defence with good effect. The Cavaliers held on and just before half time a though ball pas from Chris Whipp found Troy found himself free of his marker and made no mistake with the finish to make the score at half time 1 - 1.
The 2nd half followed a similar pattern with Heath End playing the long ball game trying to carve out another opening but thanks to the lat ditch defending from Phil clearing the ball off the line and twice heath End hitting the woodwork of the Cavaliers goal. A fine effort from Liam saw the heath End keeper in no mans land but the ball hit the crossbar and out again. It was Heath End who scored with yet another longball through the middle of the Cavaliers defence. The Cavaliers bounced right back with Dane making fine run from the defence to the edge of the area of Heath Ends goaland then unselfishly fed a through ball in to Troy who then chipped the ball over the keeper to bring the score to 2 - 2. For the next 10 minutes or so the Cavaliers dominated the play and were rewarded for their efforts with a fine run from Liam down the right, then beating his defender and drilling the ball home to make the score 2 - 3 to the Cavalierrs with minutes to go. The 3 points look certain but straight from the kick off heath End played straight through the Cavalier midfield and defence with out a tackle being made on the Heath End Player had a free shot and scored to level the score 3 - 3. Av good point away from home, 1 defeat in 7 games but so could have easily today taken all 3 points.

9th November - Lightwater Rovers (H) 1 - 1 (D) League

Bracknell Cavaliers FC 1 Lightwater Rovers 1 7th League Game

The Cavaliers got off to a flying start and within 2 minutes Liam fed a fine pass which split the Lightwater defence and the keeper showed signs of hesitancy which Calab took advandtage of , he got to the ball first, went passed the keeper and coolly slotted the ball home to put the Cavaliers into the lead. The Cavaliers started to play well and have a good share of the possession and a number of attacks but unfortunately could not add to the score. Lightwater also started to create space and opportunities to socre but the Cavaliers back four defended well and James was showing great confidence in goal. The 2nd half saw the Cavaliers attack Lightwater straight away with Caleb coming close with his effort by hitting the crossbar. Another chance from Liam from a free kick saw a Lightwater player clear the ball off the line. The game was close with both both sides looking to find an opening but it was Lightwater who did , after a goal mouth scramble managed to scuff the ball into the Cavaliers net. This did not deter the Cavaliers and came close to scoring the winnerwith efforts from Jessie, Troy and Adam all going close. In the dying minutes James made a great save to deny Lightwater a winner. It was a close, tense game with both teams looking like they could win it but the points today were shared.
We played well today all over the pitch showing great team-work, hard-work and determination. At times the passing was excellent and the tackles were spot on.

2nd November - Badshot Lea (A) 4 - 1 (L) League

Badshot Lea Knights 4 Bracknell Cavaliers FC 1 6th League Game.

This Match and its result are in dispute with the league officials and the decision on the dispute has not been decided.

Against an unbeaten Badshot Lea side the Cavaliers were put under pressure early on and thanks to some last ditch defending denied Badshot of an early goal. Badshot did not take the lead until after 11 minutes catching the Cavaliers defence a sleep and allowing a player to turn in the box and shoot into an empty net from close range. As the game went on we had to play agasinst some very questionable decisions from the referee and the linesman. The Cavaliers got their deserved equalisedafter a spell of pressure from which Cory coolly slotted the ball home leaving the badshot keeper no chance in no-mans land. In the 2nd half the referees poor decisions started to have an effect on the game and our players, the final result was 4 - 1 but the score line flattered Badshot and did not show how hard the Cavaliers played. The whole team played their hearts out and did not deserve to have lost 1 - 4 .

26th October - Manor Colts (A) 1 - 4 (W) League Game

Manor Colts 1 Bracknell Cavaliers 4 - 5th League Match

In the 1st half the Cavaliers struggled to find any consisitancy or shape. Only the odd breakthrough and attack only to see the ball fired wide or into the keepers arms. With very little play from the Cavaliers in Midfield Manor Colts took advandtage and create several openings only to be denied by stand-in keeper Matt Wallis. A clumsy tackle by Tom Conway in defence for the Cavaliers gave manor Colts a penalty from which they scored. 1 - 0 down at half time changes had to be made but with 5 players missing from the usual squad this was not easy. In the 2nd half we pulled our socks up and with an inspirational performance from sub Jack Grisman changed the course of the game with a fine goal for the equaliser then setting up Caleb Muirimi for the 2nd goal. The Cavaliers were now completely dominating with chances falling to Rhys Cunningham, Cory Smith, Dan Money, and Troy Whelan who rattled the post with his fine effort. The Cavaliers third came from Liam walter who created his own space and fired home a shot with venom which the keeper injured himself trying to save. The 4th also coming from Liam walter which makes his 11th goal in 4 games
This was the Cavaliers 4th win in a row also scoring 26 goals in those 4 games, a tremendous effort by all.

Abbey Rangers FC 3 Bracknell Cavaliers 7

On a overcast blustery day playing on a pitch more suited to BMX riding Abbey Rangers scored first within 2 minutes of the start. The shape of both teams were of such very bunched and playing through the middle of the pitch and not playing with any width. However the Cavaliers did break through Liam Walter who ran beating the Abbey Rangers defence and firing home to level the score. For the next 15mins of so chances were created on the left through good link up play from Jessie Dagdag and Troy Whelan but only to see their shots go wide. A fine pass through to Caleb saw him one on one with another defender who he shrugged off and scored. Just before half time the Cavaliers broke again beating the offside trap from which Troy coolly slotted the ball home for 1 - 3 to the Cavaliers. For about 15mins of the re-start the Cavaliers dominated the play with Cory Smith, Adam Newell, Troy Whelan and Phil Partridge all coming Very close. It was Liam who found the net just after Abbey Rangers had scored and Minutes later Liam Walter scored his hatrick. A fime cross from Matt Wallis saw Jessie Dagdag score with his head to make the score 2 - 6 . Abbey Rangers did not give up and scored a third but this just spurred the Cavaliers on and soon enough Liam from through again to score his 4th and the Cavaliers 7th. Final score was 3 - 7 to the Cavaliers. All credit ot Abbey Rangers who never gave up all game and pushed the Cavaliers all the way.

12th October - Farnborogh Town Boys(H) 6 - 3 (W) - League Game

4th League Game -
Bracknell Cavaliers 6 Farnborough Town 3

The Cavaliers started very positively with Liam Walter using his pace to good effect and finishing well. The Cavaliers were off to a flying start and found themselves 3 - 0 up in 20 minutes and looked well incontrol of the game until a laspe of concentration let Farnborough in and lobbed Cavaliers keeper James O'riordan leaving no chance of the save. minutes later Farnborough won a penaltyfrom which thet scored and at 3 - 2 the scoreline made a different reflection on things. The 2nd halfwent well for the Cavaliers and within minutes scored a 4th to give a 2 goal cushion but Farnborough once again took advandtage of a another lapse of concentration and scored. This did not deter the Cavaliers focusand soon enough Liam Walter scored his 3rd of the Match and the Cavaliers 5th. At 5 - 3 we looked in controlof the game. The 6th came from from penalty spot which Jack grisman fired home with confidence. There were also good erformances from all over the pitch, the back 4 all worked very hard, the midfield battled and passed the ball well and the forward line was always threatening the Farnborough Defence. The man of the match could have gone to a largenumber of players today as the teamwork, passing and spirit was at is best its ever been, well done to all, Farnborugh are a good strong team and today we raised our game got a the result we deserved.

5th October - Mychette Athletic (H) 9 - 1(W) - Friendly

Cavaliers started well and had the majority of the attacking play and after 5 minutes Cory Smith scored a fine goal and his 1st for the Cavaliers season 2003. Mychette battled hard and never gave up and were rewarded with a fine goal after 20 minutes but the Cavaliers responded well and scored within a minute of the re-take through a fine pass from Cory Smith which Calb muirimi fired home with confidence. With a 2 -1 lead at half time mayors sub changes hapened and the Cavaliers started to gain control of the 2nd half with attack after attack which saw the Cavaliers score 7 more times , a fine hatrick from Adam Newell, a brace from Liam Walter, a fine half volley shot from Troy Whelan and a home goal from Mychette. The appetite for the game returned big time for the Cavaliers all over the pitch considering Mychette did not give up and pushed us all the way the Cavaliers strength and depth within the team shone through.

28th September - Haslemere Town (H) 0 - 1 (L) - League Game

Bracknell Cavaliers 0 Haslemere Town 1
This was a very close game against strong opposition in which the Cavaliers raised their game, from James O'riordan in goal to the defence, midfield and lone front runner Jack Grisman the whole team worked very hardnot only frustrating Haslemere but creating attacking chances also. The 2nd half followed in the same pattern as the 1st even when changes in players were made we still looked very strong and threatening. The only goal of the game came from a Haslemere player just thumping the ball high and up the pitch and to everyones surprise the ball hit the post and went in. This did not deter us and we showed great character pushing forward for the equaliser and came very close when Liam Walter hit the post and Caleb Muirimi also had chances in the dying minutes and was unlucky not score. Overall a good game was played, the Cavaliers showed great stength and depth within the team with all 16 players playing well.

Cavaliers Man of the Match : James O'riordan - showing great confidence and commanded his area very well.

21st September - Bracknell Celtic (A) 2 - 0 (L) - League Game

2nd League Game.
Bracknell Celtic 2 Bracknell Cavaliers 0

The 1st half saw the Cavaliers having more then our fair share of defending to do, but the back 4 of Lee Woodhall, Matt Eagles, Phil Partridge and Dane Marshall were all on top form not letting Celtic through. Adam Newell up front was also showing a lot of hardwork and running but with little service from the midfield Adam had nothing to show for his efforts. At times in the 1st half we left a lot a of space in the midfield for Celtic to take advantage of. The 2nd half the Cavaliers came out more positively with Cory Smith and Matt Wallis both showing great determination and attitude. After a great spell of pressure by the Cavaliers a corner was won which Jessie Dagdag crossed over and a Celtic player handled in the area to give the Cavaliers a penalty. From which Phil Partridge blasted at the goal and the Celtic keeper made a fine save which rebounded out only to see Jack Grisman fired wide of the post. Under hot conditions and a rough pitch both sides were looking tired and it was a battle to see who could last the longest. With only minutes to go Lee Woodhall and matt Wallis both picked up injuries and Celtic found themselves an opprtunity to score in the dying minute abd did so. A mnute later into injury time Celtic scored a 2nd. This game was a tight game that both sides deserved something from but football can be a cruel game sometimes which it proved to be today. The 2 -0 scoreline did not reflect on how hard the Cavaliers worked through-out the game.

1st League -
Bracknell Cavaliers 2 Ascot utd Royals 6

A good strong start to the game with the Cavaliers having plenty of possession and from a well taken corner by Cory Smith in the 7th Minute Phil Partridge connected with a fine flick headerwhich went into the net. It was a close game with opportunities to be had at both ends but it was not until the 25th minute when Ascot won a free kick on the edge of the box from which a fine taken free kick flew into the corner of the goal to level the score. Minutes later due to a lack of concentration within the Cavaliers saw Ascot break and scoreto go 1- 2 up. The score could have been different when a long range freekick taken by Phil Partridge curved and dipped only to hit the underside of the cross-bar onto the goal line and somehow Ascot cleared the ball away. In hot conditions the 2nd half lack of match fitness began to show and within a minute of the start Ascot caught the Cavaliers defence a sleep and scored. At 1 - 3 down the Cavaliers looked jaded and beaten. During the next 15 minutes Ascot had most of the possession and added 2 more goals to go 1 5 up. Through grit and determination the Cavaliers tried to push the game to Ascot and Caleb Muirimi grabbed a late goal with a fine solo finish. Ascot added a 6th deep into injury time to make the final score 2 - 6. Ascot were a good team and a 'big team ' in hot dry conditions at Braybrooke we matched them 1st half but found our selves struggling 2nd half.

With no pre-season matches and going straight into the cup 1st game the Cavaliers were expected to be a little rusty and they were. Although saying that, it was the Cavaliers who scored within the 1st 10 minutes with a fine angled shot from Jessie Dagdag leaving the Dynamo's keeper no chance. But as the 1st half went on a strong Dynamo's team started to grow in confidence and equalised . Soon after the Cavaliers found themselves on the back foot for the rest of the game. The final score was 5 - 1 to the Dynamo's.
